{"id":1385,"date":"2009-10-22T22:54:20","date_gmt":"2009-10-22T12:54:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.thefatwebsite.com\/?p=1385"},"modified":"2009-10-22T22:57:47","modified_gmt":"2009-10-22T12:57:47","slug":"amazon-kindle","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.thefatwebsite.com\/?p=1385","title":{"rendered":"Amazon Kindle arrived today"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Our Kindles arrived in the mail today.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1386\" style=\"width: 610px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1386\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1386\" title=\"kindles\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thefatwebsite.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/kindles.jpg\" alt=\"Amazon Kindle - our first ebook\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.thefatwebsite.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/kindles.jpg 600w, http:\/\/www.thefatwebsite.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/kindles-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-1386\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Kindle Surprise<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Rediscovering reading has been one of the best things about this year.\u00a0 It&#8217;s become a nightly habit to put on a pot of tea, hook up the iPod docking station, set to some random Sigur Ros album and read for a good hour or so before going to bed.\u00a0 Being a slow reader and not having read for a few years, it feels like there is a metric butt-load of awesome books to catch up on.\u00a0 With that in mind, I&#8217;m pretty psyched to get my Kindle.\u00a0 It&#8217;s perfect for getting books cheaper and it also allows for immediate accessability for some of the harder to find books that Brisbane&#8217;s lacklustre book stores never seem to have.\u00a0 The screen is very easy on the eyes and being able to read newspapers is a nice bonus.\u00a0 I downloaded the next book in the Millenium trilogy, <em>The Girl Who Played With Fire<\/em>.\u00a0 Now I can&#8217;t decide if I should finish <em>The Greatest Show On Earth<\/em> first or come back to it.<\/p>\n<p>Having too many good books to choose from is a nice conundrum to have.<\/p>\n<p>I also have tomorrow off, so I&#8217;ve got a long weekend to kick back and read.<\/p>\n<p>Life is good.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Our Kindles arrived in the mail today.
