{"id":1509,"date":"2009-12-05T09:32:34","date_gmt":"2009-12-04T23:32:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.thefatwebsite.com\/?p=1509"},"modified":"2014-06-11T21:42:35","modified_gmt":"2014-06-11T11:42:35","slug":"world-cup-draw-2010","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.thefatwebsite.com\/?p=1509","title":{"rendered":"World Cup Draw 2010"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I woke up this morning to check out the groups drawn for the World Cup in South Africa next year.\u00a0 I got three teams I&#8217;m rooting for: Japan, New Zealand and Australia.\u00a0 Here&#8217;s a quick breakdown of how we went.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1510\" title=\"groupd\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thefatwebsite.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/groupd.jpg\" alt=\"groupd\" width=\"356\" height=\"101\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.thefatwebsite.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/groupd.jpg 356w, http:\/\/www.thefatwebsite.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/groupd-300x85.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 356px) 100vw, 356px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I was a bit disappointed about this grouping really.\u00a0 I was hoping we would get Italy so we could crush them as payback for when they stole the 2006 World Cup from us.\u00a0 We have a good history of beating Ghana so I think thats pretty much 3 points in the bank and then you&#8217;d imagine that we&#8217;d only need 1 point from either Germany or Serbia to advance.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1511\" title=\"groupe\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thefatwebsite.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/groupe.jpg\" alt=\"groupe\" width=\"356\" height=\"101\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.thefatwebsite.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/groupe.jpg 356w, http:\/\/www.thefatwebsite.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/groupe-300x85.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 356px) 100vw, 356px\" \/>I can&#8217;t say I know much about what Cameroon is like on the World stage any more.\u00a0 I always imagine them to be pretty good because my first real memories of a World Cup are the Italia 1990 one when Roger Miller was kicking all sorts of ass for them.\u00a0 Frankly, this entire group looks hard as hell so sadly I can&#8217;t really imagine Japan advancing beyond the group stages.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1512\" title=\"groupf\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thefatwebsite.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/groupf.jpg\" alt=\"groupf\" width=\"356\" height=\"101\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.thefatwebsite.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/groupf.jpg 356w, http:\/\/www.thefatwebsite.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/groupf-300x85.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 356px) 100vw, 356px\" \/>New Zealand got the group Australia should have been in, dammit.\u00a0 Oh well, the Socceroos can play vicariously through the All Whites and I&#8217;ll have to settle for New Zealand beating Italy.\u00a0 1-0 is fine.\u00a0 Nothing fancy.\u00a0 As for the rest of the group, I guess its always going to look uphill for NZ.\u00a0 Still, they do have the best striker in the world class Hyundai A-League so that has to count for something.\u00a0 :p<\/p>\n<p>Finally, here&#8217;s my predictions of how the tournament will play out:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1515\" title=\"predictions\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thefatwebsite.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/predictions.jpg\" alt=\"predictions\" width=\"600\" height=\"504\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.thefatwebsite.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/predictions.jpg 600w, http:\/\/www.thefatwebsite.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/predictions-300x252.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I woke up this morning to check out the groups drawn for the World Cup in South Africa next year.\u00a0 I got three teams I&#8217;m rooting for: Japan, New Zealand and Australia.\u00a0 Here&#8217;s a quick breakdown of how we went.
