W<\/span><\/em>hile we wait for the current generation of consoles to start warming up and really get going (let’s be honest, it’s been a slow first year), a popular trend nowadays is for developers to revisit some of the popular hits of yesteryear and given them a re-release with more polished graphics and a smoother framerate.\u00a0 Tomb Raider, Grand Theft Auto<\/em> V and the Halo <\/em>trilogy are all amongst the franchises that have been remade or are in the pipeline.\u00a0 I don’t really know how many of those other games I’ll actually get around to revisiting but I knew I would happily take the plunge for The Last Of Us Remastered.\u00a0<\/em> The original was a game that I absolutely loved playing and although it pushed the aging PS3 to its limits graphically, you could see that developers Naughty Dog had a real flair for cinematography and the game produced some memorable eye catching moments.\u00a0 The chance to play it once more at a butter smooth 60 frames per second with 1080p resolution was too good to pass up.<\/p>\n

The game doesn’t play any different to the PS3 classic so for those seeking my opinion on the game<\/strong><\/a> and its excellent DLC add-on<\/strong><\/a> Left Behind<\/em>, all you need to do is click on those links for the old reviews.\u00a0 Instead, I’ll just post a handful of screenshots I took using the game’s entertaining photo mode.<\/p>\n

If you’ve never played The Last Of Us<\/em> before, what are you waiting for?\u00a0 This remastered edition is as good a reason as any to jump in and give it a go.<\/p>\n

The photo mode has plenty of great filters and ways to play with the ‘camera lens’.\u00a0 With a bit of fiddling around you can actually get some pretty striking images and it gives you a real appreciation for some of the smaller details that are in this game.\u00a0 I wish more games would introduce this feature.<\/p>\n

There’s actually enough moments of serene beauty in the game that I think you could take a series of photos and make it look like the game is about a young girl having a fun hiking adventure.<\/p>\n
