Last week I received a Facebook message out of the blue from Kolitha who told me he was going to be in town over the weekend.\u00a0 It was the first time I’d have a chance to catch up with my old flatmate from university since 2003.\u00a0 Jesus, had it really been seven years<\/em>?<\/p>\n

It was great to see the guy.\u00a0 He got fat.\u00a0 So did I.\u00a0 We caught up over a few drinks and talked about what we’d been up to.\u00a0 Both got married.\u00a0 He owns property.\u00a0 I still rent (boo-urns).\u00a0 He got into marketing.\u00a0 I got into management.\u00a0 He has sweet perks like overseas travel on the company dime.\u00a0 We both still watch South Park.\u00a0 Both fondly remember the good old days in Perth.\u00a0 Hanging out in Victoria Park.\u00a0 Watching midnight EPL games and buying munchies at 3 a.m from We Never Sleep.\u00a0 The weird students we were in class with.\u00a0 The ones we kept in touch with.\u00a0 The ones we didn’t.<\/p>\n

It was pretty awesome.\u00a0 Kolitha is definitely one of those dudes that I can catch up with and within minutes we’re getting on as good as we always did.\u00a0 Its a shame we were only able to catch up for the one night really.\u00a0 Hopefully next time it won’t be seven years between drinks.<\/p>\n
