This morning was different.<\/p>\n

I woke, not by my alarm or the knocking on my door from a housemate reminding me that it was a ‘school day’ – instead I lay there in utter comfort as a ray of light shone on my face. It was 9:30am and I wasn’t late or even early for anything…<\/p>\n

I suppose it shouldn’t come as such a surprise (me being a student and all) but in a strange role reversal it is exactly because I’ve been working so hard at school that I am not used to having time off.<\/p>\n

The last taught module of my Masters degree ended yesterday. It was a magazine module where we had to – you guessed it – make a magazine. About a month ago everyone had to come up with a magazine business plan and pitch. It was to be presented to a\u00a0panel with the winning bid given a month to be produced. The winning bid: mine.<\/p>\n

I took up the role of editor and after assembling my team around me, we got about working on it. I will not spill the beans of what the ins-and-outs of the magazine is – due to it being my copyright – \u00a0after a month’s hard work of leading, designing and editing the magazine: butter<\/em> has finally been sent off to the printers..<\/p>\n

Isn’t it just swell? I must confess however, that I owe the totally awesome front cover to the brilliant artist Julia Schonlau<\/a> who was kind enough to let me use her design.<\/span><\/span><\/em><\/p>\n
