one as an angelic, well behaved kid at home, and the other as an outgoing Mean Girl in town.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thefatwebsite.com\/?attachment_id=22082\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-22082\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-22082\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thefatwebsite.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sharpobjects.jpg\" alt=\"sharpobjects\" width=\"620\" height=\"330\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.thefatwebsite.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sharpobjects.jpg 620w, http:\/\/www.thefatwebsite.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sharpobjects-300x160.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 620px) 100vw, 620px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><em>Sharp Objects<\/em> is a stand alone mini series of eight episodes with just a single season planned.\u00a0 It is largely faithful to the books.\u00a0 The first two episodes do a good job of establishing the murder mystery, providing the audience with a catalogue of strange and\u00a0suspicious citizens in Wind Gap, any of whom feel like they could be the culprits.\u00a0 These episodes also go a long way towards establishing Camille&#8217;s fractured relationship with her family.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">From there the series went in a direction I didn&#8217;t quite expect or anticipate.\u00a0 Much of the focus is on Camille&#8217;s descent into alcoholism and emotional oblivion as she reopens old wounds in her relationship with her mother.\u00a0 She drinks hard, makes some <em>incredibly\u00a0<\/em>poor choices and&#8230;well, the mystery is kind of left to sit until the penultimate episode before it gets going again.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Overall, I came away from\u00a0<em>Sharp Objects<\/em> looking at the show favourably.\u00a0 It is a terrific showcase for the talents of the three leads &#8211;
