{"id":5336,"date":"2011-06-26T16:43:21","date_gmt":"2011-06-26T06:43:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.thefatwebsite.com\/?p=5336"},"modified":"2011-06-26T16:43:29","modified_gmt":"2011-06-26T06:43:29","slug":"5-second-review-hanna","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.thefatwebsite.com\/?p=5336","title":{"rendered":"5 Second Review &#8211; Hanna"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thefatwebsite.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/hanna.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5337\" title=\"hanna\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thefatwebsite.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/hanna.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"630\" height=\"354\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.thefatwebsite.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/hanna.jpg 630w, http:\/\/www.thefatwebsite.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/hanna-300x168.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 630px) 100vw, 630px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><em>Hanna<\/em> is an interesting new direction for director Joe Wright who is best known for making the period dramas <em>Pride &amp; Prejudice<\/em> and <em>Atonement<\/em>.\u00a0 Unlike those films, Hanna is a contemporary action film that moves at the same accelerated pace as that of its young heroine.<\/p>\n<p>Hanna lives in a remote snowy woodland location with her father Erik who rigorously trains her in combat, languages and committing to memory a falsified account of her upbringing.\u00a0 Once she comes of age, he explains to her that she can trigger an alert mechanism which will highlight her location to Marissa, a CIA operative who wants to capture them both. Not one to waste anyone&#8217;s time (including the audience), Hanna triggers the switch.\u00a0 Cue 90 minutes of stylized action as Hanna makes a dash for her freedom, has a rather surprising interlude in Morocco where she makes her first friend and goes on a date with a boy, and then a final twenty minute burst of action for the inevitable showdown with the CIA.<\/p>\n<p>I don&#8217;t quite know what to make of <em>Hanna<\/em>.\u00a0 I enjoyed the playful camerawork, the unexpected coming-of-age story and the Chemical Brothers soundtrack.\u00a0 By the end of the film I wasn&#8217;t really sure if there was a point to the whole affair but I didn&#8217;t really mind.\u00a0 I still had a good time.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hanna is an interesting new direction for director Joe Wright who is best known for making the period dramas Pride &amp; Prejudice and Atonement.\u00a0 Unlike those films, Hanna is a contemporary action film that moves at the same accelerated pace as that of its young heroine.
