Blog

The FAT Website has had over a dozen bloggers writing about their lives around the world for over a decade. Topics cover everything from food, music, sports, travel and general musings on the minutiae of everyday life. The FAT Website blog first started in 1999 as a means for five high school friends to stay in touch as they independently traveled around the world.

The Complete Calvin & Hobbes Collection

A few weeks ago I blogged about Jen getting me a copy of The Complete Far Side.  I just mentioned in passing to her that I was hankering to read some of my old comic book collections that I had when I was a kid and bam, she orders them the next day.  She’s pretty great like that. Not longer ...

Sarah’s birthday

It was my sister-in-law Sarah’s 22nd birthday recently.  One of the gifts she received, from her twin brother, was a set of alphabet tiles that spelt out both her name and tuahine, which is Maori for ‘sister’.  A nice and thoughtful gift. This week, ...

Wrestlemania XXVII, the Super Bowl of the wrestling business, sees the WWE at a crossroads where the organisation seems to be going through a rather difficult transition from their current crop of stars to the new generation.  Many of their top tier stars such as The Undertaker and Triple H are likely only a few years or one serious injury ...

Youtube Friday: Custom Made

It’s Wrestlemania Weekend on The FAT Website.  So here’s a wrestling-related Youtube clip to start your Friday.  It’s a fan-made song called Custom Made which is made up of promo clips from ‘Nature Boy’ Ric Flair.  This is a pretty great song to start your day with.  Charlie Sheen has nothing on Ric Flair in his hey day. So without ...

The KFC Double Down Burger

I first read about the KFC Double Down burger about a year ago on the Internet.  It gained a certain measure of noteriety for being one of those ridiculously excessive and unhealthy American fast food meals you read about and can’t quite believe exists in this day and age.  For the uninitiated, it is a bacon and fried cheese sandwich ...
