A Very Inoue Christmas 2011

Christmas Day in the Inoue household was spent at home with Jen’s siblings.  Although Jen and her mum Karen raised the bar for Christmas meals with an awesome seafood feast last year, I think she outdid herself once again this year with what she prepared.  My glorious wife laid on a six course all day meal, starting with a croissant and finishing up with a dessert combo from Matthew and Sarah.  Fortunately, this year I was able to capture it in all its glory thanks to a terrific new Olympus camera that Jen got me as a prezzie.  As with many past years, I was spoilt absolutely rotten by Jen, her family and my parents.

All in all, an amazing Christmas.  It made me feel loved, lucky and very full at the end of the day.

A quick snapshot of the day:

Jenni’s Christmas Feast

Croissant, omlette, Tetsuya’s ocean trout

Haloumi, pommengranate and basil

Cream of tomato and roasted capsicum soup

Poached egg with lemon asparagus

Oysters four ways – lemon and ginger granita, red wine vinegar and shallots, salmon caviar and nude

Roast turkey with cranberry and pistachio stuffing, served with roasted vegetables and honeyed dutch carrots

Raspberry miroire and mint chocolate marquise

Served with Veuve Cliquot Demi Sec
