Today I met the very personification of every stereotypical, beautiful, high school bitch. They call her Marie. While I sat, listing to her 80-minute monologue on the trials and tribulations of her hectic love life, I was moment by moment more astounded by her absolute conceit and selfishness. I honestly didn’t think that people like that really existed. I thought it was just some girl who screen-writers made up for movies to show teenage girls about the absurdity of peer pressure and, well, morals! The right and wrong way to treat people. Social conduct….
Through one part where she was explaining why she “like fully only liked this guy (who was supposedly her best friend) because now he was fucking some other chick” and went on to proudly tell a whole room full of people that she went and told this poor new girlfriend (in front of some other generously sized audience) that she and the girls boyfriend had hooked up numerous times and that this guy had always loved her anyway. Well, after causing quite a scene, the boyfriend and girlfriend obviously broke up and he went to Marie saying that he was suicidal and she replied “Fuck off and kill yourself then, as if I care…” Is this normal? Is this what I have been missing in my high school years whilst overseas? Is so then thank God for Brunei and international schools and common decency in the educated.
