Youtube Friday: The Mario Kart Mercedes Ad

The highly anticipated Nintendo game Mario Kart 8 releases worldwide this weekend.  To promote the launch, Nintendo and Mercedes collaborated to release this bizarre advertisement promoting the new Mercedes GLA as a free downloadable car which will be playable in the game.  The concept is weird, the ad is even weirder.  That goomba at the end of the clip is the stuff of nightmares.

It also made me wonder what a live action Mario film could look like with today’s special effects.
