I didn’t get up for Argentina vs Belgium but I appreciate the dazed coach GIF is probably the best thing to come out of the tournament yet  🙂

With Argentina, Brazil and Germany advancing to the semi finals, the last remaining underdog side was Costa Rica who knocked out Italy and England on the way through.  Can they get one over Netherlands?

5′  Looks like Costa Rica, who have only conceded two goals in the tournament so far, are happy to sit back and park the bus.  Play for penalties.  It’s not exciting football to watch but likely their best chance of advancing.

10′  Looks like Netherlands don’t want to be caught on the counter and are happy to pass the ball sideways, maintaining possession and only going forward sparingly.  Not a great foundation for a game of football.

94′  …Snijder hits the post!  It stays out and we go into extra time.  Holy cow that was boring.

EXTRA TIME

Sfdsfadsfdsfdfadsfdfads Craziness ensues.  No goals.  Penalties!  Oh, but in the last 30 seconds of the game, Louis Van Gaal subs on goal keeper Tim Krul.  No matter what the result, sub editors of the morning papers are thrilled with the decision.

It turns out to be an inspired decision by Van Gaal as two saves by Krul win the quarter final for Netherlands.  A terrible first 100 minutes but the game really came to life in the final twenty.

Now we have our semis – Brazil vs Germany, Netherlands vs Argentina.
