Allegria Bar & Bistro

On Friday, we had dinner at Park Road in Milton for our friend Chrystal’s birthday.

I love Park Road.  It’s the same street I used to work on when I managed the Service Centre and it is basically an extensive strip of cafes, bars and restaurants.  Like Lygon St in Melbourne but about 1/500th of the size.

Allegria Bar & Bistro is Chrystal’s favourite restaurant in Brisbane and why wouldn’t it be?  It has a warm and inviting decor, a friendly manager named Guiseppe who greets her by name and a healthy range of Mediterranean cuisine that was well priced and absolutely delicious.  Just look how hearty and flavoursome these dishes look.  They were every bit as tasty as they look.  I should know.  None of the girls could finish their swordfish or tornado beef so I gave them a hand.

Porchetta Slow roasted pork belly on sauted silverbeet, almonds, raisins & quince aioli

Baked swordfish with cherry tomatoes, capers, capsicum & olives on green beans and spinach
