Jen and I watched The Hunger Games last night. We both thought it was pretty good. Jen is a fan of the book series as well.
What I didn’t realise is just how popular The Hunger Games book trilogy is and subsequently how massively anticipated the film is. Based on a pre-purchased tickets, it might end up having the highest box office opening ever for a non-sequel film. Reading about the film on Something Awful’s messageboard, someone linked to this video of teenagers and their response to the film’s trailer. It gives you an idea of just how popular this thing is.
I thought it was pleasantly positive video too. You tend to see the worst of teenagers on the Internet – typically their vanity or ignorance on social media – so it was nice to see this clip where they’re well spoken and have a wide-eyed excitement about something.
