Masuya Restaurant

During a recent stopover in Sydney, myself and some guys from work were feeling a hankering for Japanese food and Masuya is literally one of the first options that turn up in Google if you search ‘Japanese restaurant Sydney’.

We booked and went in with no real expectations of the service or quality.  Turns out, we also really underestimated the sheer quantity we would get served.

This Masuya place is the business.  We ordered a $45 set menu dinner which looked rather modest on paper but turned out to be a gigantic eight course feast.  The portions were ridiculously huge, the sashimi was incredible fresh and the wagyu beef incredibly tender.  The restaurant staff themselves were very friendly and regularly topped up our tea, plus I liked their little touch of leaving a name tag on the table so you knew the name of the person you were being served by.

Seriously though, for $45 AUS, look at this:

If you’re in Sydney and need a feed, hit these guys up.  It was incredibly tasty and I couldn’t believe the size of the portions for the cost.  Highly recommended.
