The Fat Website

Hey everyone.

Well, here we are again.  The FAT Website is back online!

For those of you who wondered what the hell happened these past few weeks, I got some explaining to do.  Unfortnately, its not a particularly interesting story.  I was in the process of moving to Sydney when the time came to pay the bills for the site.  By the time I settled in and got around to looking at it, GoDaddy killed the site and deleted all our archives.

The silver lining is that it forced our hand to do the redesign that was long overdue for TFW and here we are now, a couple of months later and full credit to Munch, the site looks awesome and its not even finished yet.  We’ve got easy image uploading, Facebook integration, spam protected comments, archived blog entries from ten years ago (don’t worry, there are plenty more coming soon), tags and more.

So let me get down to it and talk about what I’ve been up to:

Since I last blogged:

I have moved to Sydney temporarily for 3 months in a marketing job at my company’s head office.  I’m living here by myself.  I’m getting married on August 1st in Brisbane.  Although I enjoy my new job, I miss Jen a lot and living here by myself, sometimes I find it a little hard to sleep.  The company I worked for announced a merger today with Vodafone so there is a bit of question mark over my future at work.  I took a jiu jitsu class and got my ass kicked by a guy called Stefan who weighs 60 kg.  It was with the Ryan Gracie Jiu Jitsu team in Sydney although when I looked up the details in Google so I can attach a photo, Google tells me Ryan Gracie is dead.  No one I know likes the new Green Day album 21st Century Breakdown but I actually think its alright.  I find myself passing time in Sydney by rereading old books and comics from my childhood.  I became a little obsessed with the television show Curb Your Enthusiasm when I watched my first full episode on an airplane and I have sinced watched all six seasons in a very short span of time.  Uploading the old blog archives and adding subject tags to them, I was surprised to see how much we blog about Harry Potter.  Speaking of which, there’s a new film out soon.  I look forward to writing and posting reviews for some films I’ve seen in the last year or so.  I hope other people continue to blog on the site now that its back up.

Lastly, I would like to apologise to everyone for fucking up and losing the blogs from 2008.  I think me and Munch will be eventually able to retrieve entries from 1999-2007 and load them onto this site.  In future, I’ll make sure I back up the site’s data every now and then.

That’s all I got.  Thanks for reading.
