Sam’s Weekly Nostalgia: Midtown

I’ve decided that once a week I will post something I am nostalgic about. Be it a movie, a song, a record, a tv show…whatever. I always enjoy looking back on the stuff that really shaped me and this week I give you…Midtown.

Now Mike will undoubtedly rip me a new one for this, but I recently found my old copy of Midtown’s “Save The World, Lose The Girl” and was reminded of just how much fun I had with it when it came out all those years ago.
After I left Brunei I started an ill-fated pop punk band in England and “Just Rock And Roll” was one of the first songs we ever learned together.

So I give you Midtown, back when Gabe was not in some awful neon-pop band (Cobra starship) and dressing like a harujuku girl.

  2. Blog nostalgia for the week:

“Rancid’s Indestructible album is IMPORTANT and needs to be heard” – Mike

  3. you’re paraphrasing there, i believe you’ll find NEEDS was capitalised.

but yes. this is an album touching on important issues such as “punk stuff”

what was i thinking? smh. i’ll go listen to my hanson record now, hey Edo? =p

  4. That was low, man. That was low.

  5. That particular album mostly dealt with Tim’s breakup with brody. So I think this is the first emo album that mike endorses!
