Curtin Razor

Last night was the big end of year film screening for Curtin.

Went with Dan and the bastard immediately tries to show me up by knowing quite a few people there. He recognized some dudes from his club and some other dude who went to high school with him.

No Curtin Razor Night is complete without some sort of cock up and this year, the best film overall had all its subtitles chopped off so no one could understand what was being said. Terrific.

After-party was pretty quiet. Curtin Film Students are lame. Of the 300 or so at the screenings, only about 30-40 came for drinks afterwards. I spent the night mostly hanging out with two girls who both had big crushes they wanted to mack on. One couldn’t muster the nerve to do anything and the other girl’s crush went off to some hippy bar.

Pretty good night though. Nice to catch up with people, some for the last time.

Quite the eye opener listening to girls fawning over guys. Attention to detail is astounding. ‘I like his hands’, ‘he has soulful eyes’ etc. Seriously, who notices hands?

Short post because the rugby will be on soon. So I will leave you with a picture of me and Gerald, one of the film makers, at the screenings where I have my staunch face on.
